Overview
UseMemo helps you remember products you used, what worked, what did not, what you want to avoid, and what may be worth buying again. This policy explains how UseMemo handles information connected to that product history.
UseMemo does not require an account to use the app. The app is designed around local product memory on your device, with backup export and import tools that you control.
Information You Add To UseMemo
You may choose to save information such as:
- Product names, brands, categories, notes, and photos.
- Good, Neutral, or Bad usage outcomes and context tags.
- Custom log fields and category-specific details.
- Stash, expiry, opened, finished, price, size, and buy-again fields.
- Version history and notes about product changes.
- Treatment plans, treatment events, reminders, and reminder history.
- Searches or Quick Check inputs used to compare against your saved history.
Photos, Camera, And Text Recognition
UseMemo can use product photos, camera/image search, Quick Check camera scanning, and OCR-assisted text selection to help you add or compare products. These features are intended to help identify product names, brands, packaging text, and similar products in your own history.
You control whether you add photos or use camera-based features. Your device may ask for camera, photo library, or notification permissions before those features work.
Local Storage And Backups
Your product memory is designed to remain local on your device unless you choose to export, share, or import a backup. UseMemo Pro can create a full backup archive that may include products, product photos, versions, outcomes, notes, stash fields, expiry fields, custom log fields, treatment plans, and treatment event history.
If you export or share a backup, the destination you choose controls what happens next. Keep backup files somewhere you trust. If you import a backup, UseMemo replaces current local app data with the imported data.
Reminder schedules are intentionally not restored as active notifications after import. UseMemo reports which products need reminder setup again.
Notifications And Reminders
Notifications are optional. UseMemo asks for notification permission when reminders can help with product routines, reviews, replacements, or treatment plans. You can skip notification permission or manage it through your device settings.
Reminders are convenience tools. They may be affected by device settings, operating system behavior, notification permissions, time zone changes, and other factors outside UseMemo's control.
Subscriptions And Purchases
UseMemo Pro subscriptions are handled through Apple's StoreKit and App Store systems. Apple may process purchase information, subscription status, renewal, cancellation, refunds, taxes, pricing, and billing details under Apple's own terms and privacy policies.
UseMemo uses subscription status to unlock Pro features such as unlimited products, stash management, expiry tracking, camera checks, Smart Insights, version history, advanced reminders, and full backup export.
What UseMemo Does Not Do
- UseMemo does not require a social profile or public account.
- UseMemo does not publish your product history to a social feed.
- UseMemo does not sell your personal product history.
- UseMemo is not designed around public reviews or generic recommendations.
Deleting Data
UseMemo includes a Reset App Data option. Reset App Data deletes products, logs, and notifications from the app on the device. If you created exported backups, deleting local app data does not delete copies you stored or shared elsewhere.
Children
UseMemo is intended for people who can manage their own product history and App Store purchases. Do not use UseMemo if you are not allowed to use the app under applicable laws or App Store rules.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as UseMemo changes. If the policy changes, the updated version will show a new "Last updated" date.
